Do me a favor? Grab your jar of peanut butter and take a look at the list of ingredients. If there’s a list chemicals that you can’t pronounce or if sugar is the first or second ingredient, you’re better off making your own! Sugar is one of the factors contributing to the obesity epidemic, and it’s in EVERYTHING!
The Recipe
This peanut butter recipe is so simple, even I can do it. I don’t get excited about measurements or the type of peanuts that I use. If you get excited about that stuff, feel free to experiment until you find your perfect combination.
Add unsalted peanuts and some peanut oil into your food processor and blend. It might look like it’s not working, but it will. Just keep blending until you get the right consistency. If you add too much oil, just add more peanuts. Viola!
If you want to add a little Himalayan salt and some pure maple, that will make it even yummier, but you can also do without.
Himalayan salt is usually pink and it hasn’t been processed and stripped of the natural minerals that your body can use. Pure maple syrup is just what it sounds like…100% maple. This is another opportunity to take a look at the syrup in your cupboard. What are the ingredients listed on the back?
Enjoy!
